Because there’s more to Bozeman than the wedding (but barely)
For our family and friends coming from out of town, we want you to experience Bozeman like the locals do — relaxed, outdoorsy, and always with good food and better company. Here are a few of our favorite ways to spend a day under the Big Sky.
Activities
Outdoor
Hyalite Canyon – A local favorite for hiking, picnicking, and pretending you’re in an L.L. Bean catalog.
Gallatin River Fly-Fishing – Even if you’ve never held a rod, it’s worth it for the scenery alone.
Peets Hill / Burke Park – A short, scenic stroll right in town with views that remind you why people never leave Montana.
Museums
Museum of the Rockies – Home to one of the largest dinosaur collections in the world (and yes, it’s as cool as it sounds).
Gallatin History Museum – Small but mighty, and a great peek into Bozeman’s wild-west beginnings.
Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture – Art, local craft shops, and the occasional wedding-weekend distraction.
Great for kids
Montana Grizzly Encounter – Get eye-to-eye with rescued grizzly bears in a natural mountain setting. Educational, thrilling, and guaranteed to make your Yellowstone selfies look tame.
Bozeman Hot Springs – A local classic — parents can soak while the kids splash around. Just the right mix of relaxation and chaos.
Sightseeing
Downtown Main Street – Western storefronts meet boutique shopping. Grab a latte, browse the shops, and people-watch from a leather chair.
Bridger Canyon Drive – A must-do scenic route — all winding roads, sweeping views, and just enough dust for character.
Yellowstone National Park (1.5 hr) – Because you can’t be this close and not see it.
Food and drinks
Breakfast
Wild Crumb – The kind of bakery you wish you had back home. Croissants worth waking up for.
Jam! – Loud, local, and full of flavor — the brunch spot everyone talks about.
Western Cafe – A Bozeman institution serving hearty breakfasts since forever — where the coffee’s strong and the locals call you “hon.”
Lunch
Revelry – Elevated comfort food with a modern twist. Try the burger, you’ll understand.
Farmers Daughters Café – Fresh, seasonal, and as photogenic as your hotel lobby.
Bozeman Taproom & Spirits – A lively downtown favorite pouring local brews, craft cocktails, and good vibes all around.
Dinner
Blackbird Kitchen – Farm-to-table Italian that’s somehow right at home in cowboy country.
Open Range – Steakhouse chic with dim lighting and serious wine.
Plonk – Upscale without the attitude. Plonk is where good food, good wine, and good company come together effortlessly.
Breweries
MAP Brewing – Lakeside views, local beer, and a patio made for sunsets.
Bozeman Brewing Co. – The original craft spot — unpretentious and loved for it.
Bar 3 Bar-B-Q - Colgan’s favorite local hangout for barbecue and brews that hit the spot.
