When we first saw Heritage Ranch, we instantly fell in love. It felt like us — authentic, a little bit luxurious, and surrounded by Montana’s natural beauty. It’s where rustic charm meets quiet elegance, and we can’t imagine a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding weekend.

Thanksgiving 2023
We first met on Thanksgiving Day 2023 in Belgrade, Montana. The Preasmyer family was hosting, and even though Colgan grew up with Karrie and Shawn’s kids in California and Vandella studied under Karrie (her Professor) at Unviersity, we had somehow never crossed paths. That night, we talked and laughed for hours, and by the end of the evening, Vandella asked Colgan for his number (a moment we still smile about).
Over the next few months, we spent countless hours on phone calls and FaceTimes, getting to know each other from a distance. Vandella wasn’t entirely sure where this unexpected connection would lead, but Colgan knew from the start that there was something truly special here.
After a few back-and-forth visits between Montana and Georgia, it became clear to both of us, we were all in. Since then, we’ve grown together, supported each other through full-time work and school (yes… both of us at the same time!), added our second dog to the family, and traveled near and far, building a life that feels like home.
We’re grateful for the way God wove our stories together at just the right time. Looking back, those years apart made our meeting feel even more meant to be. And now, we can’t wait for everything that comes next.

A note from Vandella…
I fell in love with Colgan’s patience and kindness, his genuine joy for life, and the way he loves God and his family so deeply. I’m still convinced that babies are mesmerized by his smile… or maybe it’s the mustache. Either way, watching how naturally he brings joy to the people around him made me fall for him even more.
I can’t wait to build a life with him and keep supporting one another through everything ahead. Over these past two years, he has encouraged me through my Master’s program, balanced work and school right alongside me, and helped keep up with our two wild pups and our home. His selfless love is something I’m endlessly grateful for, and I’m so excited for the life we’re creating together.
A note from Colgan…
The night we met, I had no idea what I was walking into. I thought it would be just another Thanksgiving, but the moment I saw Vandella standing in the kitchen, covered in flour and blushing when she noticed me, I knew everything had changed. From that instant, I knew there was something special between us and I was in trouble ;) It was the good kind of trouble though. It wasn't her baking I fell in love with, although she is very good, it was the way she was involved with everyone that day and the joy she was radiating when I first saw her that caught my attention. That was a moment we smile and laugh about often and one that I try to recreate all the time.
The past two years have been such a fun journey for us, we have grown incredibly close and learned so much about one another. I see God’s love reflected in the way she cares for others so genuinely and selflessly. Her faith, kindness, and heart for the people around her are an inspiration for me, and I’m endlessly grateful for the way she loves so fully.
I’m beyond excited for the life we’re building together, and for what the future holds for us. A home filled with God, kids, laughter, love and plenty of adventure along the way!! I can’t wait to see how God works in our lives and where He leads us.
